Journal of Higher Education Outreach and Engagement Special Issue – “Access through Engagement” Submissions due October 31, 2007
In the spring of 2008, a special issue of The Journal of Higher Education Outreach and Engagement will be published related to the theme of the of the 2007 Outreach Scholarship Conference. All articles for this special issues should be submitted electronically directly to the University of Wisconsin-Extension to Pikalek@conted.uwex.edu by October 31, 2007. All articles must meet the submission guidelines identified below. For more information about the Journal, please visit http://uga.edu/jheoe.
- Manuscripts should be 2,000 to 4,000 words in length.
- All pages should be double-spaced.
- Authors are requested to keep quoted matter to a minimum.
- Manuscripts should be submitted electronically in IBM compatible Microsoft Word via email as an attachment to Pikalek@conted.uwex.edu. In the subject line, please put Outreach Scholarship Journal Submission.
- All tables, figures or other graphics should appear at the end of the article and be camera ready.
- Each submitted manuscript should include a brief abstract (150 words or less). Separate sections should be created for acknowledgements, references, author biography or other relevant information.
- The review process is masked. A cover page should be included with the manuscript. The cover page should include the title of the article, the date of submission, and the following information for all authors: name, official title and affiliation, office and/or home contact information (address, phone and fax numbers, email addresses). The manuscript should have the title of the article and the date of submission on the top of the first page of the manuscript. Please include a page containing a short 1 paragraph biography for each author and attach it to the original.
- Manuscripts submitted to the Journal must be original and unpublished work of the author(s) and must not be under consideration by other publications.
- It is the author’s responsibility to obtain any necessary written permission for use of copyrighted material contained within the article.
- JHEOE style is based on The Chicago Manual of Style, 14th edition. This determines such elements as capitalization, hyphenation, use of numerals or spelled-out numbers, and form of parenthetical references. JHEOE’s format for references is based on Chicago’s specifications for author-date system citation. Endnotes may be used for information inappropriate for inclusion in the body of an article; however, authors are encouraged to incorporate information in the text where possible. JHEOE’s format for citation of Internet sources is based on The Chicago Manual of Style, 15th edition.The basic form is Author’s name. Date of Internet publication [if appropriate]. Document title. Publisher or sponsoring body [if appropriate]. URL (accessed date [if time sensitive]).
