6th Annual Lotus Beacon Awards Winner - Excellence in Education & Training: Learning Innovations

The Award

UW Learning Innovations was recognized as an Education Provider Partner who leverages Lotus/IBM solutions and technologies to deliver superior education and training programs to customers, and provides a measurable positive revenue impact. Consideration was given for creative use of training media (synchronous, asynchronous, interactive tools, etc.), global impact, customer satisfaction, assessment and measurement, and innovation in training programs.

Our Solution

Using LearningSpace and Domino, UW Learning Innovations collaborated with Famous Footwear to create Steps to Success, an online training program for launching new sales employees into the culture of the company and teaching appropriate sales techniques. The "Steps to Success" program is accessible enterprise-wide to 825 stores throughout the U.S. and its territories. UW Learning Innovations delivered a training environment that can be accessed by 8,000+ employees; can be updated quickly and automatically; and can be managed at lower cost and with total consistency. Because the retail industry suffers a high turnover rate with sales associates in the 18–24 year age bracket, UW Learning Innovations created an engaging training experience, using video, audio, graphics, and text to engage the employee base in a familiar but interesting way. Steps to Success demonstrated clear value across an entire customer work force and is an outstanding example of how Partner expertise and Lotus technologies can combine to transform and raise learning environments to a whole new level of effectiveness.

Congratulations!
